
About the Author |
Boris M. Segal was born
in Russia. During Stalin's purges his parents perished and he was
persecuted. Later he received M.D. and Ph.D. degrees and became professor
at the Moscow Institute of Psychiatry. After emigration to the U.S.
in 1973, he completed Fellowship at Harvard University, worked in several
psychiatric hospitals and clinics, and taught at New York Medical College,
the Columbia University, and the New School for Social Research.
Boris Segal now divides his time
between psychiatric practice, consultations, teaching and writing. Dr.
Segal is the author of over one hundred publications on emotional and
addictive disorders, biological and psychological problems, childrearing,
the family, history and philosophy. |
